Snow

Rains
turned to snow.
The pond puddle
froze,
twin to my heart
since the moment
you were gone.
Time
soldiers on,
slows to a crawl,
drags by
second to second,
each day passes,
and I sleep
hour after hour
longer than before,
normal,
a self-imposed coma
to mask loneliness,
empty,
pin-drop silent
rooms
keeping secret
my love
for you.
Snow covers
our yard;
I cover
my feelings,
harbored deep,
hidden beneath,
slow falling
snow.
