Love of the Day

He told me he loved me.

Though the circumstances that it was said were not favorable. I was upset, he was a bit inebriated. He had told me before that he doesn’t lie, but I can’t help but doubt.

He told me it was the truth.

We’ve only been together for a few months. As a skeptic of the word ‘love’, I told him I didn’t believe in it. Most people don’t mean it when they say it.

He told me he’d prove it.

What did I tell him? I told him I’d like to believe it. And I’d like to hope we have time to find out.
